Andy Hatfield is playing a Seagull M6 acoustic guitar in that video, and Andy stated that it was simply the best guitar that he could afford at the time, and I think that you will agree that in his very capable hands, the Seagull M6 Acoustic guitar is a wonderful instrument! The Seagull M6 Acoustic Guitar Specifications What kind of guitar is that you are playing? But I read into the comments on the video up above a little more, and as always, someone asked the question: I hope this is what you were looking for and enjoy your guitar.Acoustic folk musicians aren't ever really superstars - you can talk to these people and so I left a simple Congratulations in the comments on Andy's video, and he, being a down to Earth, and humble champion of folk guitar - thanked me for it. If you go down to the artist series heading in bold there is a s6 cw mahogany which i believe is this guitar except with a spruce top. A site I found while looking for info about this guitar is If you didn't know, the guitar has a solid cedar top, Solid mahogany back and neck with a rose wood fret board, and the sides are made of three layers of mahogany to prevent cracking and it also has a High Gloss (the HG on the Tag). In other words it is just a step below the new artist series and was origionally considered as a higher end seagull guitars. As it turns out this style of guitar is basically the same guitar as an artist series guitar WITHOUT the inlays. ![]() What I found out is that this style of guitar is actually an older model like last years or something which came out before the company put their guitars into the three separate catagories, S series, M series, & Artist series. Out of all the ones I played this one sounded as good or better then the rest and for the price there was no contest which guitar to go for expecially since the hard shell case was included.īefore I purchased the guitar though I did some inquiring about the guitar being S6 compared to the artist series as they were both the same price (something didn't make much sense). I even played three or so Seagull artist series guitars. Before I purchased it i played a variety of brands that were higher priced including Martin, Taylor, etc. I love it! The sound is awesome and althought it doesn't have all of the inlays like the Artist series guitars I actually like it better without. ![]() I recently purchased the same style of guitar (S6 CW Mahogany HG)in Aug 2001. ![]()
